Courses

Gillian's courses are very popular. The classes are small, with both individual and group tuition to help the students to reach their own potential. She performs demonstrations to stimulate the flow of ideas and start students on their own work.

Courses are held in the vicinity of Maidenhead, Berkshire, and include:

• One day workshops
• Weekly courses
• Tuition by the hour

These days are meant for taking time to study a certain topic and produce rewarding results. The format is a discussion and demonstration, followed by practical work with personal and group tution. (There is about an hour's break at around one o'clock.) Some of the topics covered are:

• Watercolour techniques, including rich washes, colour mixes for the countryside, and a look at different papers.
  
  
• Flowers from the garden. How to handle arranging and painting flowers, with tips and ideas to help.
  
  
• Success with painting country buildings. Looking at trees and houses together.
  
  
• Pen and ink, new uses and techniques with acrylic inks.

This makes an ideal Christmas or Birthday present. Vouchers are available. Time are arranged to suit the student: it can be a one-off, or arranged weekly/monthly as desired.

Gillian also demonstrates both silk painting and painting to art groups.
